About Fluconazole 150 mg Tablet

Fluconazole 150 mg Tablet contains Fluconazole 150 mg. Fluconazole is an antifungal medicine. A single 150 mg capsule is commonly used to treat vaginal thrush (yeast infection), and doctors may prescribe it for other fungal infections of the skin, nails, mouth and throat. It works by stopping the growth of fungi. Your doctor will tell you how many doses you need.

How to use

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed, with or without food. Swallow the capsule or tablet whole with water. If you are taking more than one dose, take them on the days your doctor advises.

How it works

Fluconazole blocks an enzyme fungi need to make ergosterol, an important part of their cell walls. Without it, the fungus cannot grow.

Safety advice

No direct interaction is known, but alcohol can add to stress on the liver. Limit alcohol.

Pregnancy Unsafe

It should be avoided in pregnancy unless a doctor decides it is essential, because of possible harm to the baby. Tell your doctor if you are or may be pregnant.

Breastfeeding Caution

Breastfeeding is usually considered acceptable after a single standard dose, but repeated or high doses are not recommended. Ask your doctor.

Driving Caution

It can occasionally cause dizziness. Do not drive if you feel affected.

Kidney Caution

Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease; the dose may need changing for longer courses.

Liver Caution

It can rarely cause liver problems. Tell your doctor if you have liver disease.

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not take two doses together.
